Here's an experiment: ask your closest people to guess what they think you'd like to be known for!
Their quickness and accuracy will serve as a reminder as to how well you are personifying your desired role in this life, because for many of us, our day-jobs do not capture the essence of who we are.
I had two conversations this past week that made me realize that I have not been as transparent with my "true colors" as I thought I was. As you all know, being privy to my thoughts and schemes, bringing spirituality to the lives of those around me is pretty much my raison d'être . Whether I do that through writing, photography or song makes no difference, the reason is always the same; honoring the glory of our inner Self.
Sometimes the things we hold most dear to our hearts are the things we have the hardest time expressing, right?
I'd like to invite you to join me in drawing out the parts of you that you'd like the world to see more of; the parts you are proud of; the things you'd like someone to say about you if you weren't in the room!
Take a piece of paper and simply write out all the things you'd like to be known for:
I'd like to be known for __________________.
The shadow side of this exercise to sit back and think of what you are actually known for and decide whether or not that is something that makes you happy. That just might be the first step towards a more authentic portrait of you :)
If you'd like to play this game with me leave me a comment , telling me what you think id like to be known for and I'll do the same for you :)
I leave you with one of my favorite quotes by someone who knew very well what he wanted the world to know about him:
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
~ John Lennon.
May you always radiate what is in your heart.
