I was having a casual convo with my friend last night when all of a sudden ---- it happened.
We acknowledged the OBVIOUS.
You know how they say that it's the most OBVIOUS things that we can't seem to see? Well, I hope you're ready for it.
Um, put simply: we are capital A ---- ADDICTED to being distracted.
We can't relax. We just.can't.stop.
Existing in our bodies, scares us into overstimulating our minds.
And ya know what, not too many of us are talking about it --- and IF we are, it's not because we are concerned, it's because we are PROUD; of how much data we consume and how efficiently we can juggle activities... yada yada yada.
(Does that smell like..... robot to you? Cuz it does for me.)
So after confessing to each other how we chain smoke or txt/snapchat/youtube while driving (all very scary stuff), we agreedto become meditation buddies.
A small but conscious step towards daily DEPROGRAMMING.
If you too find it hard to stop scrolling, or concentrate, feel calm without loading your brain with crap information, shopping, or anxiety pills, then you are invited to join our buddy system
It will consist of daily, 5 minute "tune ins" where we drift into "being", together, at the same TIME. Five minutes where we commit to creating a space where we are safe ---- without the poisonous high of distractions.
Just each other, and our breath.
